Craftsman and the furniture business.
Representative of the regional landscape, the forests of the Pyrenees brim with a wide range of hardwood trees. Born into a peasant family, Henri spent a large part of his childhood roaming the forests and shores and streams of the Adour River. His love for trees was born when he went through the pain of losing his parents. Henri was raised by his aunt in a religious institution nestled on the outskirts of the woods. His aunt respected his love for nature and taught him discipline but also social and cultural openness—values that would guide him throughout his life as an individual and entrepreneur. Located near the sawmills at the heart of the regional forests, the town of Vic-en-Bigorre witnessed the growth of the craftsman and the furniture business following the war. The alchemy of the forested landscape and rural area gave birth to a calling.
Future and quality
Ever since its creation, the company has remained true to its heritage. The second generation of Tujague’s upgraded the factory’s artisanal design to industrial while maintaining the traditional know- how acquired in their father’s workshops. Nestled in the plains of the valley of Adour at the steps of the Pyrenees, the modern and contemporary factory is geared towards the future.
